Ephraim Urevbu was born in Warri, Nigeria and graduated from Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, Nigeria. He later migrated to the US in 1980 to pursue a career in fine art with a concentration in painting.  He graduated from the University of Memphis with both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Fine Art in 1986. 

Currently a US-based painter, Urevbu is best known for his large scale abstract expressionist paintings distinguished by his presentation of bold acrylics and heavy pallet knife technique. His latest work explores major social and political themes such as morality, truth, race, equal rights & social justice, largely within the context of his personal experiences and American history.
